In-Game Cinematic: The Wrath Gate*

One of the design goals for Wrath of the Lich King was to elevate storytelling in World of Warcraft to new heights. Northrend is brought to life by engaging quests, memorable characters, beautiful environments, and the introduction of a brand-new feature: in-game cinematics. The first of these cinematics, The Wrath Gate, is now available for viewing and download on the Wrath of the Lich King website.

Wrath of the Lich King Scenic Video in Blizzcon 2008

Here is a Wrath of the Lich King video that runs a little over 7 minutes showcasing scenes from Northrend ranging from landscape and town, to boss battles and raids. This video is a part of the press kit being handed out at Blizzcon 2008.

Cast of The Guild to be at BlizzCon

Both by way of the World of Warcraft official website and Felicia Day herself, the news is out that the cast of The Guild will be at BlizzCon. The cast of the web-based sitcom will be sitting on on a discussion panel and giving a preview of the upcoming second season of The Guild.

If you have absolutely no idea what The Guild is, you're really missing out and I recommend giving it a watch. The first episode is embedded above to get you started. If you want to know a little more about Felicia Day (who you may know from the more recent internet phenomenon Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog), WoW Insider interviewed her back in August of last year. What do you say, Felicia. Up for round two? You can bring the whole crew this time! We won't try to groom you, I promise.

Death Knight Gameplay Video: Unholy PvP

Jadefury continues to deliver with the Death Knight videos. This time, he runs around in one of the Northrend starting zones and preys upon unsuspecting Alliance. It's a bit of a gank video, so fair warning if you're not into that. He uses this level 73 Unholy/Blood build.

Jadefury himself admits, of course, that the first thing he had going for him was the element of surprise -- not only ganking, but people panicking as they had to face down an unfamiliar class. We wouldn't be surprised if PvPing with a Death Knight for the first few months of Wrath is easy if only because of that deer in the headlights phenomenon.

Still, he also showcases some very nice uses of Death Knight PvP skills. My favorite is his use of Death Grip, which looks like it's fast becoming the signature Death Knight move -- not only does it take care of people trying to run away, but he uses it as a spell interrupt in a pinch. There's also some freezing action going on as well with what looks to be Chains of Ice. Of course, having Magic Suppression probably helps a lot as well.

Of course, it's worth noting that he leapt upon people in combat (with some rather sweet looking Nerubians at that, we can't believe we'll be able to solo those, Wrath is going to be so epic), and this is only at level 73, so level 80 organized PvP may look somewhat different. Still, it's yet another good look at Death Knight gameplay to prepare all of us rerollers.
